| Theatre in the Woods will be hosting the next in its series of meal and play readings on Saturday morning, April 4th. Anyone interested is invited to come and read a part or just listen. The play will be William Shakespeare’sMuch Ado About Nothing, which comes to the TiTW stage in March of 2010. Directors Carolyn Burnett and Karen Kaufman want to get an early start on exploring, understanding, and enjoying this wicked romantic comedy. “Shakespeare’s plays really come alive when they are spoken aloud. We want people to get an idea of why we are so excited to present this play to area audiences,” says Karen Kaufman, one of the play’s directors. “People with no acting experience are especially invited to participate. | We love the community that arises from just sitting around a table together reading and sharing a meal. And as different people read the parts, we as directors get new ideas for how we want the play to be.” Theatre in the Woods invites anyone who is interested to come for fun and stay for brunch. This is a great way to meet new people, investigate a play, and maybe begin to consider whether you might like to take to the stage. The reading will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon downstairs at the Erika Quam Memorial Theatre in Shell Lake. For more information, call 635-7641 or 468-4387. |
