- Meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.
- Additions to the agenda – Added the Namakagon String Band on 1/31/09 (6.a/b), Pizza and a Play on April 4th (6.g), new logo (8.f.), website discussion (8.g), and Spring Quam Day dates (7.).
- Correction to December minutes – a couple typos – sent (6) and undecorated (8). Patti made a motion to accept the minutes with the corrections, seconded by Carol.
- Treasurer’s Report – Review of the financials – endowment was updated today at $43,078, account balances are at $11,782. Received $650 in donations this month. We had a high heat bill last month at $700. Sam cleaned out the filters and will make this an annual event for the building committee. Concessions for Kevin’s storytelling brought in $58. Ron made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, seconded by Sam.
- Correspondence - discussed the following
- Request for the whereabouts of the postcard about the Crucible that was posted on the board by the back door.
- WACT newsletter was routed
- Shell Lake Band – hold for now, we may donate 2 tickets for their auction
- Spooner Area School District – Americore / VISTA program – they are having a silent auction on 1/31. Discussed sending them 2 tickets for the silent auction. We may be able to have them help with the Quam Day. Patti will get in touch with Mary
- Kathy will send out a letter to Happy Tonics – their request for funding does not meet our mission
- We have a lot of play catalogs for folks to review
6. Events / Productions (Review and Preview)
- Collage – January 17, 2009 – Carolyn will follow up with the press release. Patti will be House Manager. Carol and Shirley will take care of treats.
- Namakagon String Band – January 31, 2009 at 7:30pm. Thank you to Sam! Sam will be House Manager, Patti and Carol will take care of treats.
- Pizza and a Play – Two Gentlemen from Verona – Friday, 2/20/09. Road trip is set for 3/7/09 with 19 attending – please pick up your tickets from Carolyn.
- Stones in His Pockets – February 21 at 7:30pm and 22 at 2pm, 2009 - Need House Manager
- Claudia Schmidt and Kevin Kling – March 6, 2009
- Ernest in Love - March 2009 – April 2009 – tryouts on 1/27 and 1/29
- Brunch and a Play – Much Ado About Nothing – Sat, April 4, 2009 from 9am to Noon – you will have to read the Curtain Call to find out why Karen and Carolyn picked this Shakespeare play
- Small Potatoes – April 25, 2009

- Quam Days coming up on March 14th and May 2nd and a summer Purge Day – TBD.
- Curtain Call deadline is 2/15, 5/15, 8/15, 11/15. Articles to include grant workshop, Quam dates, Help Wanted for House Manager for the Stones in His Pockets performances, invitation to those interested in learning light board skills with Bob, and more.
8. New Business
- Long Range Plan discussion. We reviewed the Long Range Plan draft and made recommendations for each section. We discussed adding in the mission statement and discussed some of the following highlights – liaison with the youth theater group, scholarship, volunteer coordinator position, and more. Patti made a motion to accept the Long Range Plan as amended, seconded by Shirley. Carol will amend the plan and Kathy will send to the Board.
- Committee assignments – Carolyn will email all groups to present in February – reporting out the chair and the mission.
- WACT conference on 2/28 and 3/1/09. There is money in the budget to fund those who would like to go. Patti and Carolyn will be attending.
- New Logo – Patti proposed that we use the new logo on flyers when events are at the Quam.
- Website - Shawn along with Jessica and Margaret will be meeting as a new task force.
9. Next Meeting will be Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 7pm. 10. Motion to adjourn by the board. Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:30 pm.
